Open Studios San Francisco Review

Whether you are an artist or an art connoisseur, San Francisco Open Studios is a 'not to be missed' event in San Francisco. During the month of October, over 700 local, practicing and emerging artists open their studios for all to see, shop and learn during what has now become an annual, much-loved city tradition. Each weekend features different neighborhoods.

The program gives both emerging and more established San Francisco artists the opportunity to invite the public into their workspaces, sell artwork, build mailing lists and gain exposure. Open Studios is also a unique and fun way for the public to meet artists, see where artwork is created, explore San Francisco's diverse neighborhoods and build collections.

Creativity Explored Review

I love this place. I love the art - it's very refreshing and creative! And the colors are often bright, perfect for spicing up your home. The money also goes to very good cause, benefiting the artists (with developmental disabilities) and hopefully will inspire growth of similar galleries.

Come during the opening of the exhibition or during the annual holiday art sale. When you do go in on a regular day, stop by inside where the artists themselves are creating their art, some of them are more than happy to talk to you. It could be an interesting experience! One time i came in and talked to an artist about a band that she is drawing, it was exciting to see how she pieced everything together and the details that she went into in creating her piece. Come in around 11am to 3pm and you'll find someone in the studio.

Henna Lounge Review

Darcy is sweet, warm, and an amazing artist. She not only gave me a fantastic design on my hand and arm, but made the whole experience a pleasure. The paste was home made and all natural, and the stain was a beautiful dark brown color. She drew quickly and precisely, and made conversation about everything and anything while working. We laughed plenty, and I walked away with my art feeling like I'd made a friend. If you are in or near San Fransisco, you must go and see her for an appointment. She works out of her home; an awesome space in the Mission with lovely decor and a relaxed, fusion-ethnic atmosphere.
